We bought a home!!
Needless to say it's been a chaotic last week.
Lets start from last Friday... We received a letter in the mail stating the home we had put an offer on and was in contract was in a flood zone. Granted much of northern California is in a flood zone due to local lakes, rivers etc. We started looking at the pros and cons of the home and felt like it really wasn't what we were looking for. The floor plan was a little bit funky and we felt like it wouldn't flow nicely with our growing family.
So Monday night (Nov. 2) we withdrew from the contract and backed out of the home. Tuesday (Nov. 3) we looked at two homes and really liked the 2nd home. Wednesday (Nov.4) we put an offer on the home and today (Nov. 5) we find out it was accepted and we are in contract. Our mortgage/lender/loan guy who is AMAZING is really optimistic and feels like we could close by thanksgiving weekend, while the contract says December 8th. Regardless, we'll be moving in soon (and hopefully before Spencer arrives) :)
I will be putting up pictures when we do the home inspection (which will hopefully be soon!)
Home Details:
4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, 2 stories, W/D upstairs, huge backyard (open for ideas) :)
We've been joking saying when we're done with this whole home buying experience, we'll be well versed as we have gone through contracts for a short sale, private sale and bank owned. We've signed a TON of contracts and paper work.
